She was at number 96 and when the year ended, she reached number 20. In the years 1999–2001, these were very crucial years in her life as she became a top 10 player by the end of 2001. And by the year 2002, she was known for “Serena’s Slam.” Serena had an inspiring story in which she showed true spirit towards the game. When she played her last match of the year 2009, she was at number 1 and there were no other players that could compete with her.
