According to the sources, the NHS covid-19 app has been peer-reviewed by researchers and other academics as the journal Nature has approved the data. Then it is confirmed that the estimation that has been given by the app holders has proved to be authentic. Additionally, the health minister of the UK has also confirmed the same.

The data shows that the NHS Covid-19 app has emerged as a blessing for people, it has a significant impact on reducing the spread of covid-19. Also, they estimated the fraction of individuals notified by the app as a result they found that the users who showed symptoms and tested positive were 6%.

Next, they estimated how many cases they could prevent by using two complementary methods. Consequently, they found out that it could reduce the case by 08% if they use the modeling method. Similarly, it was 2.3% using statistical analysis. Analysis from the leading scientists shows that in the first 3 weeks of July 2021, cases were rising and the app averted around 2000 cases per day. It also adds that the app reduced the spread of covid-19 cases by 4.3% per week.

About the NHS Covid 19 app? & how does it work?

NHS covid-19 app is provided by the UK Health security agency, it is sponsored by the department of health and social care. It is available in England and wales. It uses Bluetooth contact tracing technology to trace nearby app users to notify them about the chances of getting exposed to the coronavirus. It facilitates the user with numerous features, for instance, checking in to venues, and recording their symptoms, test results, and periods of self-isolation.

Privacy concerns are the major issue among app users, so the NHS Covid-19 app has some unique ways to protect your privacy.

How does the NHS Covid-19 app protect user data?

The app uses random IDs that can not be used by any government officials or NHS that is why your vaccination records and covid pass appear separately in the NHS app (only in England). It restricts other users to see the information related to you, at the same time you won’t be able to see their data. The random IDs help you to hide your identity, it won’t let others know who you are and where and with whom you are spending time with.

All things considered

The NHS Covid-19 app has been considered an advantageous app among users and government officials, also among scientists. As it uses Bluetooth technology to trace the distance, over time between users.  So it helped to gather enough data about the covid cases and also prevented it from spreading further. Yet many things are to be developed as if now.
